ROSA Parks

  • Rosa parks was a black lady who took place in the CRM
  • When she was on the bus, only white guys were allowed on the front seats
  • Rosa was really tired and the back you had to stand because the seats were token
  • Rosa really did not want to stand so she sat in the white seat
  • White guys were angry and tortured her to move but she did not move a budge or fought back
  • Rosa only said "Why must we fight against each other for these? Can't we be EQUAL?"
  • All this happened on December 5, 1955

SHEYANN WEBBED

  • Sheyann was 8 years old when she first met Martin Luther king spoke a inspiring speech that led Sheyann to join the movement
  • On Sunday Sheyann joined a movement of black guys on a protest
  • When police ordered them to turn back the black guys refused and in that the police led out beating them and flew out war gas
  • Sheyann stood as a Civil rights activists, the Smallest Civil rights activist and that Sunday became known as the "Bloody Sunday"
  • Later on she stood in another March and succeeded and she even has a book about her called "Slema, Lord, Selma"
  • Today she keeps the Civil rights movement alive by telling the "Bloody Sunday"

GEORGIA GILMORE

  • Georgia was one of the key players in the civil rights movement.
  • After Rosa parks was arrested for not giving up her seat, Georgia lost her job for testifying.
  • So Georgia set up her own restaurant and white and black guys were allowed in Alabama
  • White guys thought it was a ordinary restaurant but it was really a secret and safe place for black people to discuss their civil rights movement thing.
  • The money Georgia gets go to the transportation to help the civil rights movement
  • Georgia was a good cook, mom, and restaurant owner but Martin Luther king taught her a valuable lesson, that she may want to think twice about things because she may regret it later.

RICHARD C. BOONE

  • Richard Boone was a teacher who in 1965, Alabama he led a march of 800 students to join the 25,000 March who completed their 5 day protest in the Selma, Alabama
  • Richard didn't stop at the March, he continued on and started a protest against local businesses that black guys could be interpreted in the work forced
  • He continued on this and then he died of cancer, but a Monterey was made in honor of him

MARTIN LUTHER King

  • Martin's family was black and white people didn't like black people, Martin thought that all man and women black or white should be treated equal. Martin gave speeches all around to people black or white.
  • Martin's most famous speech was " I have a dream" in August 28, 1963. he won the Noble peace prize for it in 1964
  • Though in the first place the civil rights movement was going slow but during a speech, a sniper bullet hit him and killed him.
  • Martin's death sparked the people's races. Years later he is the most widely known African American in his era and his works and name have been created as a holiday and many schools plus public buildings have been named after him
