Location

  • The Crow tribe was and still are located in Montana.

Daily Life

  • Men fed and defended their families while women cooked, cleaned, and took apart her family's house when the tribe moved. The elderly told stories while the children would help around the house, as well as hunt and fish occasionally.

Food

  • The Crow tribe hunted deer, fish, elk, and buffalo, as well as raising corn and tobacco.

Housing

  • The Crow moved frequently but when they decided to settle, they used buffalo hide to build small teepees.

Clothing

  • Women wore deer skin dresses while men wore breech-cloths with leather leggings and buckskin shirts. Both genders wore moccasins and leaders wore long Indian warbonnets.

Population

  • The original population of the Crow tribe was about three-thousand; today, their population ranges from eight-thousand to thirteen-thousand people.

  • The Crow primarily used bows and arrows, war clubs, spears, and hide shields.

Transportation

  • The tribe mainly used rafts and travois to get around at the time.
