MUSIC AND DANCE
Cuban music is a mix of spanish and african music.
Classical music is the least popular type of music in Cuba.
Cuba's most notorious artist is ballet dancer Alicia Alonso, who later would go on to form a dance school.
Many modern dance companies reside in Havana.
Also known for the Afro-Cuban jazz.

CUBAN LITERATURE
Much of the literature in Cuba was a reflection of society.
For example, when Spain controlled Cuba, lots of writing was freedom writing.
The bulk of popularity of literature is made by short stories.
Lots of literature is of course censored thanks to Cuba's communist state.

CUBAN THEATRE
In 1959 theatre became state supported.
Acting troupes join an exchange program in order to perform all over.
Theatre festivals usually like to invite cuban actors to perform.
Many shows feature social problems which began in the 80's

CUBAN FOOD
Cuban food consists mostly of pork,fowl, and rice
Many of the dishes are simple such as black beans and rice.
Most meals are consumed with dark coffee.
Roasted pig is also a popular dish in Cuba.

FILM IN CUBA
Many cuban films are poular with international audiences.
Films such as strawberry and chocolate,waiting list, and life to whistle.
Many of these films have won prizes at film festivals.
My personal favorite cuban film is Una Noche.

SPORTS
Sports is a very big deal in Cuba.
Sports players are like celebrites and heroes to the people of cuba
Baseball is the most popular, even Fidel Castro approves of baseball.
Cuban baseball teams have even won gold medals.

LANGUAGE

Spanish is the principal language in Cuba
Many of the world originate from native Indian roots.
Africans have made the language more exclusive thanks to all the different dialects

A secret language exist in Cuba known as Lucumí
It is of Niger-Congo origins.
It is a special language spoken by very few.

An unspecified amount of Cubans have no religion.
2/5 of Cuban people are Roman Catholic.
The bulk of the poulation is of the Santería religion.
The Santeria religion includes many West African Traditions

The number of Jews and Muslims is decreasing dramatically
Religion isn't a big thing in Cuba, very few actually practice religion.

In 2008 Raul Castro became leader.
Cuba is split into 15 provinces.
Cuba has some of the worst prison conditions.
The capital of Cuba is Havana.

Cuba has one of the best health care plan in a developing country.
Education is free at all levels.
The percentage of graduates is higher for women
Cuba has lower drugs than the Bahamas.
America does not trade with Cuba.
