I chose this article because it looked interesting and I wanted to know why the voters said no and yes. I also thought it would be cool to do a current events on a local topic.

WHAT THEY WERE GOING TO DO TO GILLSON
- Rebuild beach house and sailing center
- Update sewers, parking lots, and public areas
- Add picnic areas, a playground, dogpark, and benches
- And make everything handicap accessible

- Beach house with bathrooms
- Add a playground
- Fix landscaping and utilities

HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST
- Gillsons repairs cost $12.7 million
- The Park Distract borrow money
- Langdons repairs cost $1.8 million
- Park Distract would have to borrow the money too

My vote at first was a no but then it was a yes because I heard about all of the fix ups and I wanted our beaches to look nice. Also when you come to Wilmette that's one of the main attractions that people are looking for.

I voted no for Langdon and Gillson. I was really against Langdon because it a natural beauty. Also there was going to be a new beach house on Langdon. There was some talk about the water levels changing and it could destroy the beach house.

MY REACTIONS
- many people would agree to this
- everyone would want to update the beach and make it better
- And I thought that our community wanted to update the beaches and have a nice facelift

WHAT ELEMRNTS OF CULTURE DOES THIS RELATE TO?
- Economics because this calls for jobs and money
- Recreation because people will be spending their spare time here
- Aesthetics and inventions, because there will be new architecture
