Two types of CE

  • Thursdays: presentation and discussion (like in Civics but in small group format)
  • Tuesdays: individual research and Google Map work

Tuesdays: Mostly the Same Except...

  • Takes place in the WORLD (avoid US)
  • Creating entries on a google map
  • Good, solid summary
  • Three discussion questions

Possible Topics

  • Cultural subjects: i.e. anything to do w/ religion, language, customs, indigenous peoples
  • Conflict
  • Politics and Economics
  • Science and population issues

Tuesdays: Individual Work

  • Using good sources, locate an article.
  • Take notes.
  • Make an annotated entry on your Google Map following the expectations given later

  • Basic summary (if any of the summary is copied, you will receive a zero for this entry with no opportunity to make it up)
  • A minimum of one Depth & Complexity analysis and three discussion questions
  • Picture or video

  • Watch a tutorial on creating a google map by googling "create custom google map"
  • Click on the entry titled, "See, create, or edit custom maps using My Maps"
  • Follow the step by step directions and start experimenting!
