What Is cyberbullying?

  • cyberbullying is when a child or teen is tormented, harassed, threatened, embarrassed, and targeted by another child or teen using the internet.

WhO aRE THE CYBER BULLY’S

  • Individuals:
  • who are immature.
  • people involved in hate groups.
  • people who have been bullied before.
  • kids having a hard time at home.

RESPONDING TO CYBER BULLYING

  • talk about it, tell someone if your a victim of cyber bullying like your parents, teacher, or trusted adult.
  • ignore them, if your being cyber bullied the best advice is to not respond most of the time there looking for a response out of you so don’t give one, they might just move on.
  • Never retaliate, be the bigger person and never retaliate against them.
  • Tell them to stop, if the repeated bullying doesn’t stop when you ignore it tell them to stop and let them know that what there doing is hurtful.

EXAMPLES OF CYBERBULLYING

  • starting rumors through messages, or internet.
  • Name calling in chat rooms.
  • Insults through social media posts.
  • Making fake profiles on social media.
  • posting pictures of somebody and calling them names on social media.

CYBERBULLYING VS BULLYING

  • The person being cyber bullying cannot get away from the bully the bully and can take place 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
  • Cyberbullying maybe be hard to find and stop.
  • the hateful messages can spread quickly to many people.
  • Once the message is sent or posted, it is almost impossible to delete. Once it’s on the internet it’s there forever
  • Bullying takes place face to face most the time.
  • bullying mainly takes place in school or playgrounds.

CONCLUSION

  • Although there is no way to eliminate cyberbullying in schools for good having an understanding of the seriousness of this harassment is key to downsizing this growing issue identifying and communicating that cyber bullying is in fact a problem will help keep this problem out of the classrooms.
  • You can choose to be part of the problem or part of the solution whether you are in your real community or the cyber community what are some of your ideas to live in safe communities.
