The story of Rebecca

Rebecca was a normal 12 year old girl. In September 2013 she climbed to the top of a cement plant tower and jumped. Two girls, aged 14 and 12, had sent Rebecca thousands of Facebook messages in the year before her suicide, calling her ugly and urging her to kill herself. One of them posted a Facebook status after Rebecca’s jump saying that, yes, she had bullied her to death, but she didn't care.

The issue with Cyber Bullying

Cyber bullying could drive a teen to physically harm themselves or they could decide to commit suicide because its hard to escape and it usually gets spread everywhere.

My position

Cyber bullying is illegal in the state of Washington and it should stay illegal because no kid, teen or adult should be cyber bullied to were they feel its necessary to commit suicide.

Opposing viewpoint (the bully)

Popular kids or teens may bully because: They see it as a way to stay popular. Hurting others makes them feel powerful.

Kids or teens who are less socially successful may bully because: It helps them cope with their own low self-esteem. They think it will help them fit in with their peers.
