HOW IT FORMS, WHEN, AND WHERE ITS MOST COMMON
Formed over the ocean in the area around the equator, between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn.
Ocean waters need to be warm, at least 26°C. Above the warm ocean, water evaporates and form clouds.
Forms when warm air above warm ocean evaporates and forms clouds.
Tropical cyclones also occur in various parts of the Pacific Ocean.
Can affect coastal regions of Mexico, south-east Asia, north-east Australia and the south Pacific islands.
