Czechoslovakia was founded in 1918 at the end of WWI
Fought hard to keep Germany put of their country -exiled the German minority
On January 1, 1993 Czechoslovakia split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia
Since then, the Czech Republic has been a liberal democracy

In the 2007-2010 time period ther was inflation and GDP decreasing
But in 2013-2014 the inflation was non-existant and the community on the rise
They have begun to rely less on brown coal in hopes to control pollution

For the most part, the rates of crime are very low and the Czech Republic is a safe place to visit. The only true crime issues are the petty small crimes that revolve around tourism.
