A dairy farm is to produce milk.

FACTS ABOUT COWS

  • Cows are the only animal that’s pregnant the same length of time as a woman.
  • A cow has 4 stomachs.
  • Cows can produce between 30-45 litres of milk a day.

Milking!
Cows get milked 2 or 3 times a day.
A normal dairy farm can produce 8000 litres a day.
The milk gets collected from the farm everyday.

CALVES
When born calves need milk from their mum within 6 hours.
All calves get a tag on their ears.
Calves will have its own baby before it’s 2years old.

FOOD
In the summer cows eat grass but in the winter they eat silage.
