  • Currently revisiting math curriculum and making changes; CCS as baseline
  • 2015-2016 grade levels to study/implement and comment
  • 2016-2017 transition year
  • Need for dedicated planning/collaboration time
  • Need for restructuring of math committee to reflect math leaders; staggered schedule
  • Need for vertical alignment across LS and MS division
  • Need for parent curriculum pamphlet outlining curriculum content and skills across grade level

  • Active member: National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM)
  • NCTM Conference New Orleans 2014
  • NCTM Conference Boston 2015
  • Add-on Licensure program UNC-CH
  • Plan: on-site PD with professionals, send teachers to regional math conference, send @ least 1 teacher with me to National Conference (San Francisco 2016)
  • Plan: In-house PD(journaling, 10-minute math games)

  • Math Specialist: support structure based on classroom teacher input (whole group, homogeneous grouping, rotating schedule, etc)
  • Reconsider current 1st grade schedule

  • Purchase of Osmo iPad gadget; geometry/Tangram
  • Goal: all teachers utilizing SMARTBoard, iPads, computers for math lessons
  • Need for innovating, technology-rich activities in all classrooms
  • Plan: collaborate with Michele Guitierrez for the latest in math technology, Apps, ideas for integrating math & technology

  • Implementation of CPAA for 1st grade 2015-16
  • Enrichment student cohorts 1st-4th
  • ERB scores consistently strong
  • Need for student growth analysis
  • Plan: Parent Coffee to share best practices, artifacts, use of math specialist in the classroom, models for "how we learn" (September?)
  • Plan: closely monitor students who may "fall between the cracks;" develop educational plan for their success
