  • Charles Darwin came up with the theory of evolution
  • He also traveled around the world and the Galapagos island to prove his theory
  • He is a British naturalist

A CHANGE IN A SPECIES OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME.

IN 1832 HE EXPLORED A SMALL COVE AND THEN THEY WENT ON SHORE BUT DIDNT FIND ANYTHING

GALAPAGOS ISLANDS

IN 1835 CHARLES DARWIN WENT TO THE GALAPAGOS ISLANDS. AND FOUND TORTUOUS.

CAPE TOWN

IN 1836 CHARLES COLLECT INSECTS, FROGS, AND PLANTS.

GALAPAGOS TORTOISE

  • The tortoises have adapted to have big shells so they can get to food easier
  • It can go a year without food and water
  • They are the largest living tortoises
  • They eat prickly pear cactus and fruits and vines
