Creator God, we give thanks for our many gifts: for the gifts of our race, gender and sexual orientation, and for the relationships and community that grows from our differences. God, we rejoice for power to be changed.

We thank you for healing our ears to hear how racism attempts to silence a people by consensus. Open our ears to hear the silence and the language of our own racism. God, we rejoice for power to be changed.

Give us the strength of a mountain to stand against the ignorance of sexism, the promotion of racism, and the condemnation and defamation of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people.
God, we rejoice for power to be changed.

Forgive us for participation in attitudes and behaviors that cause repression and grief for others. Make us aware.
Holy God, we rejoice for power to be changed.

Holy spirit of life, thank you for the gift of those who give their hearts of empathy, who reach out with support and understanding to gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people and to those healing the injuries of racism.
Amen

“The residential schools were designed to eradicate any sense of Indian-ness. They denied us the opportunity to learn about ourselves.”

Servant Song

Brother, let me be your servant.
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant, too.

We are pilgrims on a journey.
We are brothers on the road.
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the load.

I will hold the life-light for you
In the night time of your fear.
I will hold my hand out to you;
Speak the peace you long to hear

Sister, let me be your servant.
Let me be as Christ to you.
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant, too.

Benediction

Life is short. We don't have much time to gladden the hearts of those who walk this way with us. So, be swift to love and make haste to be kind.” And the blessing of the one who made you, the one who sees you and the one that calls you beloved be with you this day and always Amen.
