Significance: Affects all Americans.

Time: current—El Paso, Pittsburg mosque, Orlando night club, Charlottesville car attack

Counter: some people who are innocent of terrorism might be convicted of terrorism if there is an all encompassing law.

Response: it’s better to stop terrorists rather than keeping all innocents out of jail. The people who might be wrongly convicted of terrorism are probably criminals anyway.

Resolved: That the federal government should pass a law to punish those involved with domestic terrorism and to fully define domestic terrorism.
