Introduction:

Deep-Sea Vents are hydrothermal vents in the very bottom of the ocean. Many scientists believe that life originated in them. There are chemicals in these vents that would have helped the organisms form.

INFORMATION:

  • Some believe Deep-Sea Vents started before 3.2 billion years ago.
  • Scientists are trying to find new life, and with the chemicals found in the vents, it's possible
  • With a mix of high heat and cold sea water, it lead to the first organic compound, which could then lead to life
  • Volcanic Rock goes through vents
  • Deep-Sea Vents are based on chemosynthesis

MORE INFORMATION:

Opposing Arguments:

Some believe that the chances of life originating this deep, is unlikely. It is proven that most organisms can not live in such high temperatures.
