CAUSES
One of the causes started in the first century. The populations needed for fuel, housing, and strategic materials.
The creation of large cities contributed to deforestation. They cut down the trees so they could build homes and buildings.
Also agriculture caused a lot of deforestation. The farmers had to cut down the trees to have farmland.

EFFECTS
Deforestation could result in the loss of plant and animal life.
Also it could mean that people won't have enough oxygen to be healthy.
Another effect is that tourists will not want to go to Spain.

SOLUTIONS
People of Spain can buy from companies that have agreed to reduce deforestation.
They can also use renewable energy instead burning the trees for fuel like turbines and solar power.
They can prevent fires by making sure their camp fires are put out.
