She was born in New Orleans and married over 3 times in her life
She kept herself elevated socially until April 10, 1834, when rescuers responding to a fire at her house discovered the mutilated slaves
She has been sensationalized in many media outlets, such as American Horror Story: Coven. She was portrayed as an immortal racist who was buried alive
