THE SOCIETAL EVOLUTION BROKEN DOWN INTO 4 STAGES

STAGE 1: Pre- Modern

  • Hunter/ Gatherer stage
  • High infant mortality and high fertility rate

STAGE 2: URBANIZING- INDUSTRIALIZING

  • Mostly rural/urbanization growing
  • Stable food supply, technology increases
  • Safety and Architecture improves
  • Population total explodes!
  • Higher fertility rate

Stage 3: Mature industrial

  • Less farmers
  • Medical technology
  • Education increases
  • decreasing infant mortality
  • birth rate declines and much lower fertility rates

Stage 4: Post Industrial

  • Not many farmers
  • Decreased industry
  • Overwhelmingly urban
  • Stable population growth
  • Very low fertility rates

Stage 5: A possibility

WHEN THE DEATH RATE GETS HIGHER THAN THE BIRTH RATE AND THE POPULATION DECREASES
