DESMOND TUTU VS. APARTHEID
EARLY LIFE
- Born in Klerksdorp, South Africa in October 7, 1931
- At the age of 12, Mr. Tutu moved to Johannesburg
- Was diagnosed with tuberculosis
When Desmond Tutu was cured of tuberculosis he realized that he needed to to do something about this. He decided to because a doctor. But his family didn't have the suffice to funds to pay for the schooling
When Mr. Tutu was 12, he moved to Johannesburg.
Here Desmond Tutu met an Angilican Priest that was strictly against apartheid.
ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF DESMOND TUTU
As a winner of a Nobel Peace Prize, Tutu continues to strive for more accomplishments in life.
Desmond Tutu was also awarded the Ghandi Peace Prize
Desmond Tutu is married to Normalizo Leah Shenxane.
Desmond Tutu has 4 kids: Trevor Thamsquana Tutu, Theresa Thandeka Tutu, Naomi Nontombi Tutu and Mpo Andrea Tutu.
DESMOND TUTU AND CATHOLIC SOCIAL TEACHINGS
As an icon to South Africa, Desmond Tutu continues to speak out against apartheid .
During an interview, Tutu told Danish television host that Denmark should not buy South Africa's coal.
