DEVONIAN

TIME PERIOD

  • The Devonian, part of the Paleozoic era
  • otherwise known as the Age of Fishes
  • Dawning about 416 million years ago

INFORMATION

  • The great supercontinent of Gondwana was headed steadily northward away from the South
  • Second supercontinent began to form that would straddle the equator

ERA

  • Was during the Paleozoic era
  • Other wise known as the age of fish
  • The fist were as big as 33 feet long

FERNS

  • They could survive in the wet lands
  • Being do close to the equator was a plus
  • They were able to store water in their roots and leaves
  • Causing the plant to have vascular tissues to do this

PLANTS

HAD TO BE ABLE TO HANDLE WARM WEATHER

DEVONIAN PLANTS

CLOSE ARE TO THE EQUATOR SO THEREFORE THEY HAVE TO HOLD WATER
