• Dharavi is one of the world's largest slums
• It contains nearly 1 million people squeezed in an incredibly small space
• Although the place is considered dirty and ugly by all those rich, it is filled with life
• All people there are humans like us and are struggling to survive

THE PEOPLE

• All the people here are looking for a better future
• Most are working class rag pickers but they want good things for their children
• For example, Laxmi works without a husband to earn money for her daughter's school
• Not all people can do this but these people are determined
• They live in an un sanitized and dirty mess, yet they survive

THE AREA

• People must live in a small one room "house"
• No toilets!
• Many unofficial factories
• Enough money to barely eat food two times
• People must work in terrible conditions

THE REAL ESTATE

• Many rich people want to raze this place
• They think its an embarrassment to their city
• Many have already gone on the streets due to road construction
• More will follow if people get their way
