WHAT IS DIABETES?
High blood sugar
Body doesn't produce insulin, or is inadequate.
Can lead to kidney failure and heart disease.

HEALTHY CELLS
Food-> Sugar -> Blood stream
Glucose stimulates pancreas cells that release a signal (insulin) to liver, fat and muscle cells to lower blood sugar levels.

HEALTHY CELLS
When sugar levels drop, glucose is released by the pancreas when it receives a signal from insulin.
