  • Diabetes: a disease that prevents the body from converting food into energy.
  • Insulin: is a hormone produced by the pancreas.
  • Types 1 diabetes: is a condition in which the immune system attacks insulin-producing cells in the pancreas.
  • Type 2 diabetes: is a condition in which the body cannot effectively use the insulin it produces.
