Osteoporosis
Brief summary: Osteoporosis is a bone condition that makes bones thinner and more fragile because of reduced bone density, and it puts people at risk of fractures.

Causes:
-Diabetes Mellitus and Osteoporosis
-Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis: in which the body attacks its own healthy cells and tissues, causing inflammation.
-Hyperthyroidism: increases the number of bone-remodeling cycles you go through, You lose bone mass rather than building it.
-Celiac Disease: digestive disorder
-Asthma: the medications used for asthma cause osteoporosis

SYMPTOMS

  • Back pain, caused by a fractured or collapsed vertebra
  • Loss of height over time
  • A stooped posture
  • A bone fracture that occurs much more easily than expected

Preventing:
-weight bearing exercises (lifting weights)
-get plenty of calcium(from dairy) serving size daily: about 1,100 mg
-get plenty of Vitamin D (from fish, mushrooms, milk, orange juice,some cereals, and etc.
