Digestion System Analogy with a Football game

Mouths job is to crush and grind food. It is also the start of the digestive system

My analogy to the Mouth is the kickoff at a football game. They're similar because the kickoff is starts a football game, and the mouth is at the start of the digestion system

The tongue is the muscle in the mouth that moves the food around so the teeth can grind and crush the food.

My Analogy to the tongue is the captain. He is in charge of communicating and moving around football players on the captains team. They're similar because the tongue moves the food around making it easier for the teeth to do their job. The captain helps coordinate the players making it more likely for that team to win.

A large piece of cartilage and it folds over the voice box to stop food entering the windpipe.

My analogy to the epiglottis is the goalie. The goalie tries to stop the football from going into the back of the net because if it does it would be a goal. It's similar to the epiglottis because the epiglottis is stopping food from entering the wind pipe.

The Esophagus is a 25 cm long tube of muscle. It connects the pharynx to the stomach. When food enters a muscle waves starts so the food can go down. Mucus helps it to keep sliding down

The esophagus is like passing because it connects the mouth to the stomach, and when you pass the ball it goes from point a to point b. They are similar because the esophagus is like a passing lane for the food to go from point a to point b.

The stomach is a muscular and flexible organ. It stores food and is responsible for taking out the nutrients in the food. It starts by churning the food with gastric acids. It kills bacteria and breaks down protein. After that is done, the end product is the chyme, which waits to go down the small intestine.

My analogy to the stomach is the midfielders because the midfielders are like the heart of the attack, they move the ball around the field making it easier for their team to score. The stomach is the heart of the digestive system. The stomach is like the midfielders because it makes it easier for the rest of the body to digest the nutrients

The liver is 1.3 kilos, and it’s the body’s largest gland. It's use is to act like a filter for blood and make bile which is used to breakdown fat

My analogy to the liver is the bench. In a football game there are substitutes who sit on the bench waiting for their time to play. They’re similar because the substitutes could help the team in the later stages of the game. The liver makes bile, and bile is used to helps digestion.

The gallbladder is plum sized and green. It’s a sac that stores the bile produced from the liver.

My analogy to the gallbladder is the sideline. They're similar because when a substitute goes on to play, he has to wait by the sideline until the player he's subbing with goes off.

The Pancreas produces insulin and enzymes which help digestion. Insulin helps regulate sugar in the blood, and enzymes is used to help digest food in the small intestine.

My analogy to the pancreas is the rain because when it rains in a football game, that is good because when a football player passes the ball, it goes further. It goes further because it slides on the rain. Its similar to the pancreas because it produces enzymes, and enzymes speed up the chemical process. This is good because we can digest our food much more quickly. The enzymes then go into the small intestine

The rectum is where
the feces are stored for temporarily for defecation.

My analogy to the rectum is the last ten minutes of a football match. During the last ten of a football match, the winning team usually parks the bus. Which means all out defence. They are similar because the rectum is the part of the body where it stores the feces. It’s the last part of the body until it goes out.

Anus is the hole where the feces exit. Contraction of the muscles in the anus help release the feces.

My analogy to the anus is the end of a football match. They're similar because the anus is the end of the digestive system.
