PRESENTATION OUTLINE

ARE YOU READY?

  • Are you ready to hop on into the wild rides.
  • You'll go from getting wet to basically the saliva burning up in a sense. This ride is one ride all put together it's gonna be fun
  • So here we go. Hold on tight it's gonna be a bumpy ride.
  • 3......2.......1.......BLAST OFF!!!!!

SLIP N' SALIVA (ORAL CAVITY)

  • Open up!! Our first ride will be the mouth also known as the oral cavity. Be careful not to slip
  • The digestive system starts here as soon as you take the first bite of a meal.
  • Saliva also mixes with food to begin the process of breaking it down so that your body can use it.
  • Sorry if you got wet........đź‘…

TRIPPY THROAT(Pharynx)

  • Our next ride will be the pharynx also known as the throat
  • This is the next step of the digestion system.
  • From here food travels to the esophagus.
  • Get ready to slide into the esophagus.

EXCITING ESOPHOGUS

  • Woahhhhh!!!! That was a fast slide down. This is a bumpy one.....so hold on.....This is a muscular tube that stretches from the pharynx to the stomach it is approximately 9-10 in. long
  • This part is like a mail man it is the delivery man...It delivers all the food to the stomach.

SWIRLING STOMACH

  • Now our next adventure is.......Grrrr.... Well someone's hungry....mmmm we are now located between the esophagus & intestines

SUPER LONG BUT SMALL INTESTINE

  • Our next ride will be the small intestine the part of the intestine that runs between the stomach and the large intestine; the duodenum, jejunum, and ileum collectively.
  • The small intestine is the money maker for a person’s digestive system. It’s the place where digested food flows so that nutrients can be taken out of it and the body refueled.
  • t’s coiled up in a person’s abdomen, but if it stretched out to its true length, it would be 20 feet long.

LONG LARGE INTESTINE

  • The next ride will be this the large intestine......It’s divided into 5 segments and works hard to pull any fluids, salts, vitamins, minerals, and other needed items out of the fuel the mouth consumed.
  • is long, bulky, and the last place the body is going to try to get nutrients out of the foods that are being eaten.

RETRACTING RECTUM

  • The next stop is The rectum its a chamber that begins at the end of the large intestine, immediately following the sigmoid colon, and ends at the anus
  • the rectum is empty because stool is stored higher in the descending colon. Eventually, the descending colon becomes full, and stool passes into the rectum, causing an urge to move the bowels

AMAZING ANUS

  • Our last stop is going to be the amazing anus and it is the opening at the far end of the digestive tract through which stool leaves the body.
  • The anus is lined with a continuation of the external skin
  • A muscular ring keeps anus closed until a bowel movement
