DIGESTIVE SYSTEM OF A BANANA BY:SARAH ROPER

MOUTH

  • Teeth,tongue,saliva
  • Breaks down food into smaller pieces and saliva moistens it
  • You peel the banana peel you take a bite out of it you chew it up and you swallow it

ESOPHAGUS

  • The banana goes to the esophagus all mushed up
  • Hollow muscular tube
  • Contracts and sends food to the stomach

STOMACH

  • Then it reaches your stomach it has to digest and it changes to a chemical
  • Hollow muscular pouch
  • Uses muscles,acids and other chemicals to break food into smaller pieces

SMALL INTESTINE

  • Then the banana absorbs it's surroundings and find the nutrients
  • Tube lined with villi
  • Absorbs nutrients into the blood and chemically digests food

LARGE INTESTINE

  • Then it goes through the large intestine
  • Tube that contracts and pushes waste toward the anus
  • Helps to get rid of waste and absorbs water back into the blood

  • Then the banana goes out of your body
  • Muscular opening
  • Allows waste to exit the body
