is a series of organs working together in your body to convert your food into nutrients for your body.

THE MOUTH

  • The mouth is the first part of the system.
  • Your saliva and teeth break down food.
  • Saliva, Teeth.

ESOPHAGUS

  • Carries your food and drink down to your stomach.
  • Esophagus

STOMACH

  • This uses acid and enzymes to break down food.
  • Stomach, enzymes, and stomach acid.

SMALL INTESTINE

  • Where most digesting happens.
  • Absorption of food happens here.

LARGE INTESTINE

  • Gets rid of water and solids from the body.

RECTUM

  • Terminates the anus
  • Concluding part of the large intestine.

ANUS

  • Removes the waste products from your body.
  • Water, and uneeded items
