DIGESTIVE SYSTEM

The digestive system has two functions; one to convert food into nutrients your body needs, and another to get rid of the body waste.

The organs in the system is mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach, small & large intestine, rectum, and anus.

Mouth-begging of the system. Chewing begins digesting by breaking down food. When saliva mixes with food it breaks down so your body can use it.
Throat-aka pharynx. It's the second place for food to go. Second organ of the digestive system.
Esophagus-swallowing tube. The esophagus goes all the way to the stomach.

Stomach-sack-like organ with strong muscle walls. It holds, mixes, grindes, and breaks down food. The acid in the stomach makes food in to a paste or liquid.
Small Intestine-made up of 3 segments the duodenum, jujunum, and ileum. It's a long tube. It break up the food even more with enzyme and bile.
Colon(large intestine)-5-6 feet of musclier tube

Liver-2 of the main function share secrete bile and cleaning the blood. Takes water and minerals out of the food
Pancreas-located in upper part of the abdomen. That produces enzymes that are released into the small intestine. It also contains cluster cells.
Gallbladder-hollow structure located under the liver and on the rights idea of the abdomen.

The organs work by using mechanical and chemical digestions. Mechanical is the physically breaking down food into smaller pieces. Chemical is breaking down food into smaller nutrients that can be used by the cells.

Digestive system works with other systems with the blood stream, mastication, shares common and topical structures with respiratory system, and helps with vitamins.

The illness in the digestive system is:
Gallstones-hardened deposit within the fluid in the gallbladder, small organ under the liver.
Gerd-in which the stomach acids or bile irritates the food pipe lining.
Diverticulitis-tract inflammation celiac disease-immune reaction to eating gluten a protein found in wheat barley & rye
Peptic-sore that develops on the lining of the esophagus, stomach, or small intestine.
Inflammatory Disease-ongoing inflammation of all or part of the digestive tract.

Some interesting facts are: that your poop will turn green if you eat too many blue berries.
The more air you swallow the bigger your burp is.
