This is designed to be an overview lesson taught during the first week of school. The purpose of this lesson is to give students an overview about the type of things they will be learning. As the lessons arise, students will conduct small research projects, bring in resources, and discuss. Students will also prepare communications to bring home and share with their parents.

  • Copyright - right to publish intellectual property
  • Fair use - using intellectual property without permission
  • Plagiarism - using someone else's ideas as your own
After lesson, students will develop a list of tips and resources for avoiding copyright violations and plagiarism.

  • A set of rules to follow to make the Internet better for all
  • Classroom Netiquette (posted by computers)
After this lesson, students will develop a Classroom Netiquette to be posted and followed in or classroom.

  • Avoiding harmful people
  • Homework - Sharing with our parents
Students will compile resources and have a chat with their parents about what they learned.

Cyberbullying

FINAL PROJECT - How can we help?

What can we do to inform more students to LMS?
After participating in a series of lessons, students will prepare some type of final project to share with other students at LMS. Examples of final projects may include, wikis, podcasts, presentations, brochures, lessons, etc.
