Positive Effect of Social Media

What becomes positive is that you can learn information and express your own opinions on the internet and be able to easily interact with others online who share common interests/likings. Also there has been the invention of funny things like vines and memes as seen in the picture.

Negative Effect of Social Media

Negative effects of social media are somewhat a cause of hating and threats. You can have people hate your likings, opinions, or just what you are. People on the internet are somewhat also "trolls" as in they try to get people to start up flaming (Arguing) about some nonsense at times or to get people mad. Many things bad also can come from registering because hackers/scammers are abundant around the internet.

Consequences/ Legal Issues

Consequences of Social media It could cost you your job application due to what you say/post online about things. Say, if you were applying for McDonalds and you said online "McDonalds is crap and I hate their food" they probably wouldn't hire you or if you said that while you had the job they'd probably fire you. Or if you said something like "I'm going to kill (Name)" you'd probably be arrested if they had proof of you searching for stuff like how to kill.

Advice

My Advice to people is that if you don't want something to be seen don't post it as if you were going to show it live on tv/show your parents/ show the police. If you don't want them to see it then DON'T do it!

College Career

Social Media will help you in college to show you how good of a person you are, what you like/dislike, grades, SOMETIMES police record as well. You might not always want to have a public social profile/ supply your email or facebook profile if you don't want it to be revealed BUT you shouldn't have to if you have nothing to hide.

Why is Portfolio important?

Portfolio is important to you because it can show you what you have accomplished already and can give people an example of who/what you are.
