BREIF HISTORY

William Dillard is the known founder and chairman of Dillard's, Inc., he always contained an interest in retail since he was young. In 1938, he borrowed $8,000 from his father and opened a small store in Nashville, Arkansas.

In 1964, Mr. Dillard opened his first store in a shopping mall in Austin, Tx. In 1969 the Dillard Department Stores Inc., went public and offered its class A common stock to eager investors on May 9.

Dillard's contain and provide retail products that feature clothing and home furnishings from national brands and exclusive sources. They offer brands such as Jessica Simpson, Levi's, and Fossil.
