I chose this book because a friend recommended it to me and I really enjoyed the movie!
Who are the main characters:
The main characters in Divergent are Beatrice(Tris) and Four.
What is the basic plot?
The basic plot is every year, every 16 year old goes to a choosing ceremony where the choose one of five factions; Abnegation, Erudite, Amity, Candor, and Dauntless. Tris makes a decision that shocks everyone. There she is in tight competition to survive the first cut. Those who don't make the cut become factionless.

Would you recommend this book to a friend?
I would definitely recommend this book to a friend. Normally I don't read books I have already seen the movie to but this book is way better than the movie. There is more detail and a lot of events that don't happen in the movie.

My goal at this point was to be a quarter of the way through the book. Currently I am a third of the way through the book.
