HYPOTHESIS

The more upbeat the music is, the faster the heart rate.

Most online research agrees that one’s heart rate and breathing is affected by the type of music listened to. The only other opinion I found was that the music itself does not change one’s heart rate, but it changed the emotion which changes the heart rate.

My hypothesis was correct. The genre of music with the most upbeat sound, Rock, produced the highest average Beats Per Minute (BPM). From greatest to least BPM, after Rock was Pop, then Country, and finally Classical.
