  • the greatest civil engineering structure

  • the cargo was worth a approximately 700m
  • 100 000 dockers worked there

  • E.India dock closed in 1967 and st Katherine and L.D 
  • docks became derelict
  • unemployment grew
  • terraced houses fell into disrepair

  • encouraging employment
  • since 1980 to 1981
