  • Ran a sonogram of the heart
  • Blood test was positive
  • Sonogram results showed enlarged heart

POMPE'S DISEASE

  • Symptoms are weakness
  • Trouble holding up head
  • Poor weight gain
  • Frequent respiratory infections

CELL ORGANELLE AFFECTED

  • His lysosomes have been affected
  • They're supposed to recycle things within the cell
  • A certain enzyme is meant to break glycogen into glucose
  • If glycogen doesn't break down, the lysosome will become toxic

WHY DOES PETER HAVE THIS?

  • Pompe's is a genetic disease
  • It has been passed down to him by his parents
