Little Willy
A ten year old orphan boy who lives with his grandfather on a potato farm.

Stone Fox
A giant, Native American with dark hair and skin his face was like stone.

Searchlight
Little Wiley's loyal black dog.

Little Willy's grandfather gets sick and is unable to
take care of his potato farm.

Little Willy's grandfather owes $500 in back taxes. His farm will be taken away if it is not paid.

Little Willy enters a dogsled race. The first place prize is $500. He plans to win and use the winnings to pay the back taxes.

Little Willy finds out he will be racing against Stone Fox who has never lost a race and doesn't speak to white people because they have taken his land. He uses his winnings to buy back his land.

RACE DAY

Searchlight takes off so fast Little Willy almost flys off the sled. They are in first place. To everyone's surprise Stone Fox is in last.

Little Willy and Searchlight remain in first place until Stone Fox gains on them. Searchlight and Stone Fox's 5 sled dogs are nose to nose.

For some reason Searchlight turns on the steam. Running faster and faster.

Ten feet from the finish line Searchlights heart bursts and she dies.

Stone Fox notices the other racers beginning to appear. He fires his gun in the air and warns that if anyone crosses the finish line he will shoot.

Stone Fox allows Little Willy to cross the finish line carrying Searchlight in his arms.
