WHAT CAUSES IT?

• When the baby has an extra 21st

• When there is an extra copy of genetic
• material on that chromosome.

SYMPTOMS & SIGNS

• Distinctive facial features such as flat face,
• small ears, slanting eyes, and small mouth.
• Weak muscles and loose joints.
• Below average intelligence.
• Lack of intellectual disability mild to moderate.

TREATMENT

• There is no single standard treatment.
• Usually depend on the child and their abilities
• they will receive care and guidance from health
• professionals, physicians, and social workers.
• Physical therapy, and speech and language therapy.
