Dreams, however weird and wacky they may seem, often reveal important clues to your innermost secrets and thoughts.

The stories your mind creates in the night, often hold the keys to self-knowledge, happiness, and sometimes, glimpses into the future.

Dreams are basically stories and images our mind creates during our sleep. Dreams can feel beyond real.

Dreams can make you feel happy, sad, or scared. They may seem confusing, or perfectly make sense.

48% of people that are in a dream are recognized by the person dreaming. What goes through our mind right before we fall asleep could effect the context of our dreams.

Most dreams occur during deep, rapid eye movement, when the brain is most active.

Some experts say that we dream at least 4-6 times per night. It is thought that each dream lasts between 5-20 minutes.

There are many theories about why we dream, but no one knows for sure.

Some researchers say dreams have no purpose or meaning and are nonsensical activities of the sleeping brain. Others say dreams are necessary for mental, emotional, and physical health.

Everybody dreams every night. You may not remember those dreams when you wake up, but that doesn't mean you don't dream. You may just not be aware.

There are 5 stages of sleep

During stage 1, which is light sleep, we drift in and out of sleep and can be awakened easily. Our eyes move very slowly and muscle activity slows. Many people also experience sudden muscle contractions called hyping myoclonia, often preceded by a sensation of starting to fall.

When we enter stage 2 sleep, our eye movements stop and our brain waves become slower, with occasional bursts of rapid waves, called sleep spindles.

In stage 3, extremely slow brain waves, called delta waves, begin to appear, interspersed with smaller, faster waves.

By stage 4, the brain produces delta waves almost exclusively. It is very difficult to wake someone during stages 3 and 4, which together are calleddeep sleep. There is no eye movement or muscle activity. People awakened during deep sleep do not adjust immediately and often feel groggy and disoriented for several minutes after they wake up.

When we switch into REM sleep (or stage 5), our breathing becomes more rapid, irregular, and shallow, our eyes jerk rapidly in various directions, and our limb muscles become temporarily paralyzed. Our heart rate increases, and our blood pressure rises. When people awaken during REM sleep, they often describe bizarre and illogical tales – dreams

HERE ARE SOME DREAM EXAMPLES

I was 90 years old and I had a cane, I was on the top of the school and I dropped my cane. Then I couldn't walk and I fell off the school and died.... Then I woke up.

Dreaming of death or dying may symbolize a phase in your life has come to an end and something new is beginning.

I got kidnapped by a family of elephants. I got into the car with the elephants. A big purple monster started chasing us. The elephants died but I killed the monster. I woke up right when I saw that my house was on fire.

-Mara Zwach

If you dream of being kidnapped, this is related to feelings of lack of expression. You may feel you are being held back.
To see fire in your dream can symbolize destruction, passion or anger.

I accidentally killed my sister and she came back and haunted me, then I eventually had people come to have her ghosts leave me alone, then I ended up riding out of my house on a unicorn.

Dreams about murder may be releasing anger towards someone or something, or possibly yourself.
To see a ghost in your dream may represent something that is no longer within your reach. It indicates that you are feeling disconnected from life and society.

A llama locked me in a coffin. Then I died and woke up.

Dreams about being trapped, feeling lost with no way out, or being unable to move are quite common. These dreams often indicate frustrations you may feel in your waking life, or indicating something or someone holding you back.
If a llama shows up in your dreams, it might represent deep trust, strength and insurance. It may also mean you are worrying too much and crafting too many problems.

How, when, why, who - there is a reason behind everything and that is exactly what's worth sharing here.

Dreams sometimes leave you numb for a day and sometimes you have no idea what you dreamt about.

You can really live a whole beautiful life in a dream that you may never be able to achieve in reality.

Wonder how life would be without dreams? No point. Because there can't be any life without dreams and that's a fact.
