  • The states are Texas, New Mexico, Kansas,
  • Denver, Oklahoma

HOW MANY PEOPLE?

  • 2.5 million people that got
  • Storm was blown for eight years

THE PEOPLE

  • When the dust blew in "the simplest
  • acts of life- breathing, eating a meal,
  • taking a walk" - was no longer simple

HOW MANY STORMS?

  • there were 14 dust storms in 1932.
  • In 1933 there were 38 dust storms.

TIMELINE

  • 1931: There is a drought in the midwest
  • and the southern plains. "The black blizzards begin"
  • 1932: " The number of dust storms" are increasing
  • 14 were reported this year
  • There were 38 reports the following year

OVERBLOW

  • The states from the overblow are wyoming
  • Nebraska, South Dakota , North Dakota ,
  • And montana .

WHAT CAUSED THE DUST BOWL

  • Pioneers moving west in the late 19th cen.
  • High tempratures , drought , and clouds of
  • Dust. Poor agriculture, wind erosion.
