DUTCH OVEN MENU

COOKIN IN THE WOODS

Breakfast

VANILLA DUTCH BABY CAKES

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cup of milk
  • 9 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup of flour
  • 3/4 tsp. of salt
  • 6 tsp. of butter as well as lemon juice and powder sugar

First I will heat the Dutch oven by placing 15 briquettes on the bottom of the oven and 19 on top. While I wait for the oven to heat up I will mix the eggs, milk, butter and salt together to make the batter. Once I'm done with mixing the batter I will put butter in the bottom of the Dutch oven to help the batter from sticking and to add flavor. After that I'll pour the batter into the Dutch oven and wait for 25- 30 minutes until the pancake is fluffy and brown. After that I'll put lemon and powder sugar for flavor.

LUNCH

CHICKEN QUESADILLA

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 Tortillas
  • 5 lbs of chicken
  • 1 Green pepper
  • 1 bag of cheddar- jack shredder cheese

First I will put 7 briquettes at the button of the oven and make a tight ring around the top. While I'm waiting for the oven to heat up I will chop the green pepper into small pieces. Once the oven is heated I will place the tortilla at the bottom of the oven and then place the cheese, chicken, and green peppers on top of it. After all the ingredients are placed on top of the tortilla I will place the other tortilla on top. After I put the lid back on I will wait an hour for them to cook.

DINNER

BACON QUICHE

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ package refrigerated pie crust
  • 1 lb package bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 3 cups shredded Colby and Monterey Jack cheese blend
  • 6 large eggs
  • ¾ cup sour cream

MORE INGREDIENTS

  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper

First I'll have to spray Pam around the inside of the oven then put the pie crust around the bottom. I'll bake the crust for 5 minutes. I'll put the bacon, green peppers and cheese on top of the pie crust. In a small bowl I'll mix the eggs and sour cream together as well as salt and pepper. Once it's mixed I'll pour the egg mixture on top of the bacon then I'll bake it for 40 minutes. Then it's done.
