ASU ECE/SPED

  • teaching or working with children from birth to age 8 (or third grade)
  • Teaches skills to assess, monitor, and report the progress of children
  • provides techniques and approaches to involves families in the
  • growth and development of children
Students’ course work is aligned with clinical experiences and internships, including a senior year residency collaborative student teaching experience that begins with an early childhood apprenticeship in a PreK-3 classroom at a partner school, as well as an early childhood special education setting.

Graduates desiring to teach in a public school, preschool, kindergarten or primary grades must pass the Arizona Educator Exams (AEPA/NES) in both content area and professional knowledge to be certified to teach in Arizona.
