Earth Definition

  • the planet on which we live; the world
  • the planet third in order from the sun, having an equatorial diameter of 7926 miles (12,755 km), a mean distance from the sun of 92.9 million miles (149.6 million km), and a period of revolution of 365.26 days, and having one satellite.

Critical Attributes: The Earth has many different, unique features. Its main one is us, the humans, or living organisms that roam and live on this planet; also the Earth contains liquid water which all living organisms need to survive; and our atmosphere protects us from the sunlight that is harmful and contains the sunlight that is healthy. These factors create a safe environment that is the only known place that humans can live. The Earth has 4 main oceans, many landforms, and 7 continents.
