PRESENTATION OUTLINE
How can we live on Earth?
We can live on Earth because there is water, oxygen, and a strong gravitational pole.
Oxygen vs. Carbon Dioxide
Earth has mostly oxygen, when Mars has mostly carbon dioxide. Humans and animals need oxygen to breathe, not carbon dioxide.
Gravitational Pole
On Earth if we weigh 100 pounds, then on Mars we would weigh 38 pounds. Earth has a stronger gravitational pole. Earth's gravitational pole makes sure that when we jump we aren't in air forever, and we don't float. Unlike Mars.
Days to orbit the Sun.
It takes Earth 365.25 days to make one complete orbit around the sun. It takes Mars 687 days to make one complete orbit around the sun. Earth completes one orbit faster than Mars because, Earth is the 3rd planet from the sun. Mars is the 4th planet from the sun.
Days to make one complete rotation
It takes Earth 23 hours and 56 minutes to travel once around the sun. It takes Mars 24 hours and 37 minutes to make one complete rotation.
Average temperature
The average temperature on Earth is 56*F. The average temperature on mars is -81*F. The reason why Earth is hotter than Mars because Earth is the 3rd planet from the sun, and mars is the 4th planet from the sun. So Earth is closer to the sun.
