WHAT DOES EATING BREAKFAST DO FOR OUR BODIES?

  • It gives us energy to make it to lunchtime
  • Replenishes glucose in our body because its low when you wake up
  • Skipping breakfast can make you over eat at lunch
  • It "breaks your fast".

WHAT DOES A HEALTHY BREAKFAST CONSIST OF?

  • Fruits and vegetables such as frozen or fresh with out added sugars.
  • Grains such as whole grains and low fats
  • Milk- low fat or fat free, skim
  • Meat such as hard boiled eggs and low fat meats
  • One example of a good meal is toast, skim milk, an apple, and eggs.

WHAT ARE EXAMPLES OF POOR BREAKFAST CHOICES?

  • Fast food restaurants
  • Sugary items
  • Deep fat fried foods
  • Any food high in fat

WHY IS IT EVEN MORE IMPORTANT FOR CHILDEREN TO BREAKFAST?

  • They are growing bodies so they need more breakfast
  • Adults just need breakfast to get going in the morning
  • If childeren skip they wont be able to concentrate and do their best

WHAT ARE THE CONCEQUENCES OF SKIPPING BREAKFAST

  • Lower concentration levels
  • Obesity
  • Menstrual irregularities
  • Lower cognition
  • Bad moods and bad blood sugar levels
