  • Chest Pain and Cough
  • Stomach Pain
  • Severe Weight Loss
  • Bleeding and Bruising

EBOLA WHERE AND WHEN

  • Ebola was first identified by the Ebola River.
  • The first case of Ebola was identified in 1976.
  • Ebola spread quickly in West Africa throughout the 21st century
  • The first case of Ebola in the United States was in Dallas, Texas
  • That was in 2014

EBOLA TRANSMISSION

  • Blood or bodily fluids
  • Objects that have been contaminated by the virus
  • Infected fruit bats or primates
  • Direct contact with contaminated objects
  • Blood transfusions

EBOLA SAFETY

  • You could prevent Ebola by:
  • Practice careful hygiene
  • Do not handle items that may be infected with Ebola
  • Avoid dead Ebola patients bodies and West Africa
  • Avoid contact with bats and nonhuman primates and their meat
