  • is it therefore the less gone."

  • "how few! yet how they creep through my fingers to the deep"
  • This is saying that he is losing things fast.

  • Hope is there no matter what.
  • Hope will be with you in your dream and not in a dream.

  • Grains of the golden sand.
  • Saying that the golden sand is valuable.

2nd stanza

  • Saying that the narrator is losing everything and his life is falling apart
  • It says in the poem that "how few! yet how they creep through my fingers 
  • to the deep, while i weep, while i weep." 
  • This sounds very dark and like he is losing everything.

  • This is a great poem but this is a dark and sad poem.  
  • When i was reading it it was a confusing and hard poem but some 
  • I made it through and kept working
  • Higher level thinking 
  • Very very interesting
