Effective planning involves having clear learning goals, developing a good assessment and providing accurate feedback to students about how to be successful.
Teachers need to teach the students to set mastery goals
Success criteria let students know when they have achieved the learning goal.
Learn the strategies to show students how to set and write personal SMART goals. SMART goals are:
S = Specific
M = Measurable
A = Attainable
R = Relevant, Rigorous, Realistic, and Results Focused
T = Timely and Trackable
Element 11: “Teachers talk with each other about the impact of their teaching, based on evidence of student progress, and about how to maximize their impact with all students”
Keep in mind that in modern-learning sharing and collaborating will benefit our students.
Administrators have to find ways to make teachers feel comfortable admitting when they don't know necessary information or lack some abilities.
I recommend the administrators in my school read the book: Upgrade Your Curriculum. Practical Ways to Transform Unit and Engage Students. By Janet Hale and Michael Fisher.
