EELS LIFE CYCLE

HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

  • The adult eels hang at rivers or lakes and follow the river to the ocean and swim somewhere near Tonga and lay there eggs.

CONTINUE EELS LIFE CYCLE

  • The eggs come up to the surface of the ocean and they hatch into little Larvas.
  • Next they swim back to New Zealand and become glass eels and go to rivers and lakes to start growing into adult eels.

CONTINUE OF EELS LIFE CYCLE

  • Then they're skin starts to grow darker and they're starting to become more mature and a fact that they stay at whatever river or lake for either 20 or 100 years

LAST PART OF THE LIFE CYCLE

  • Once they're adults they go out towards Tonga and lay eggs again but the down side of this is that only the baby's survive not the adults.

FACTS ABOUT EELS

  • Female eels are the ones that grow bigger then the male eels
  • Long fin eels are one of the worlds biggest eels
  • It's very rare to find a fully or partly yellow eels
  • Female eels can grow up to be 25 or over 50 kegs and can live to be 30 or 100 years
