EGG LAB

Problem
Why did the egg shell turn so thin that it was able to be rubbed off

Hypothesis
When we put the egg in the vinegar the egg will dissolve cause the vinegar contains acetic acid

PROCEDURES

  • Materials used:
  • 1egg
  • Vinegar
  • A container big enough to hold the egg and other liquids
  • Syrup
  • Tong
  • Paper towels

SAFTY PROCEDURES

  • Wear goggles
  • When smelling you weft with your hand
  • Be very careful with egg or else it will break

Day 1
First step should be you and your group will wright down the description of the egg then measure it's mass on the electronic balance and record result

Day 2
Wright down description of egg then you and your group dry off egg carefully record mass then put egg back in jar and pour distilled water

Day 3
Open jar clean out distilled water carefully remove egg from jar and on to a paper towel and pat dry then write down description and record mass

Day 4
Open jar and pour the syrup next the group will use tongs to very carefully remove egg rinse off with slow running water then write down description and record mass

Analysis and conclusion
Osmosis is the movement of water called diffusion.The egg gained mass in solution 3 and lost mass in solution 4.The reason why there were changes in the mass of the egg was cause it absorbed the liquid it was put in the eggs shell melted off it became flexible and a see through brown the egg was still thick but lost mass with the syrup
